The Battle of San Cala, fought in the present-day Minas Department, Córdoba, Argentina, on January 9, 1842, between Unitarian forces and Federalists, who under the command of General Ángel Pacheco, prevented the expansion of the Unitarian Coalition of the North into the provinces of the Cuyo.

The Battle of San Cala, fought in Córdoba's Minas Department, represented a check on the Unitarian Coalition of the North's effort to extend its reach into the Cuyo provinces. Federalist forces under General Ángel Pacheco, though outnumbered by the Unitarian force of 1,500 against their 1,100, succeeded in blocking that westward expansion. The engagement thus preserved Federalist control over a strategically significant interior corridor during the Argentine Civil Wars, limiting the geographic momentum the Unitarian coalition had sought to build.
