The Battle of Rajgród was fought on 29 May 1831 between Poland and Imperial Russia, during the November Uprising. The Poles, according to some accounts, were victorious.

Significance

The Battle of Rajgród on 29 May 1831 was an engagement between Polish forces under Antoni Giełgud and an Imperial Russian force under Dmitri Osten-Sacken during the November Uprising. The Polish force of approximately 12,000 outnumbered the Russian contingent of around 5,800. According to some accounts the Poles emerged victorious, though the outcome is not definitively recorded. Polish casualties are estimated between 300 and 1,200. The battle's place in the broader November Uprising remains unclear from available sources, and its operational consequences cannot be established with certainty.
