Battle of Yevenes

Overview

The Battle of Los Yébenes was a conflict between the Regiment of Polish Lancers and multiple regiments of Spanish cavalry, near the Spanish village of Los Yébenes. The heavily outnumbered Polish regiment, led by Colonel Jan Konopka, was surprised and nearly defeated by the larger Spanish force.

Significance

The engagement at Los Yébenes pitted Colonel Jan Konopka's Regiment of Polish Lancers against multiple Spanish cavalry regiments near the village of Los Yébenes during the Peninsular War.
