Battle of Czarnobyl

Significance

The Battle of Chornobyl, fought on 27 April 1920, was a component of the broader Kiev Operation conducted by the Polish Army during the Polish–Soviet War. Situated near the town of Chornobyl in Ukraine, the engagement resulted in a Polish victory and contributed to the operational momentum of the Kiev offensive, which aimed at advancing deep into Soviet-held Ukrainian territory. As one of several actions comprising that operation, the outcome at Chornobyl supported Polish forces' capacity to press forward toward Kiev.
