Battle of Boryspil

Significance

The Battle of Boryspil, fought near Kyiv on 2 June 1920, was part of the Polish counter-assault following a Russian offensive launched on 27 May 1920. The engagement reflects the fluid, contested nature of operations around Kyiv during this phase of the Polish–Soviet War, in which Polish forces sought to reverse Bolshevik pressure rather than cede ground in the strategically significant Ukrainian theater. Its place in the broader campaign is as one of several counter-offensive actions the Polish side undertook in response to the May offensive.
