Significance

Operation Undeniable Victory (Fath-ol-Mobin) was a major Iranian military operation during the Iran–Iraq War, conducted in March 1982 and resulting in the Battle of Shush. Led by Lt. General Ali Sayad Shirazi, the operation was carried out in four phases and engaged Iraqi forces numbering between 80,000 and 160,000 troops against an Iranian force of 80,000 to 100,000. Iraqi casualties reached approximately 8,000 against roughly 4,000 Iranian losses, suggesting Iran retained an operational advantage in the engagement. The operation represented a significant Iranian effort to reverse Iraqi gains from the 1980 invasion and formed part of the broader Iranian counteroffensive push in early 1982.
