The Battle of Zhangjiawan was an engagement between Anglo-French forces and Qing Chinese forces at the town of Zhangjiawan during the Second Opium War on 18 September 1860. The battle resulted in substantial Qing casualties, with losses recorded at approximately 1,500 against a defending force of 2,000–3,000. The engagement was part of the Allied advance during the final phase of the Second Opium War, a campaign that culminated in the occupation of Beijing and the imposition of the Convention of Peking on the Qing dynasty.
