The Battle of Kirk Kilisse was an early engagement of the First Balkan War in which Bulgarian forces defeated an Ottoman army in Eastern Thrace and occupied Kırklareli. The victory gave Bulgaria a foothold in the region and demonstrated the capacity of the Bulgarian army to overcome Ottoman resistance in open campaign conditions.
