The Battle of Fleurus, fought on 1 July 1690, set the forces of France under François-Henri de Luxembourg against a Dutch Republic army commanded by Georg Friedrich of Waldeck. Force sizes were roughly matched, with France fielding between 30,000 and 40,000 troops and the Dutch Republic between 30,000 and 38,000.
