The Battle of Entrames, fought near Entrames in Mayenne on 27 October 1793, resulted in a Royalist victory over Republican forces during the War in the Vendée. The engagement was substantial in scale, with approximately 25,000 Republican troops under commanders including Jean Léchelle, Jean-Baptiste Kléber, Michel de Beaupuy, and F.-J. Westermann facing a Royalist force of around 31,000 led by Charles de Royrand and Henri de La Rochejaquelein. Republican casualties of roughly 4,000 against Royalist losses of approximately 2,100 underscored the scale of the Republican defeat. The battle formed part of the broader and prolonged Vendée insurgency against the Republic, a conflict that tied down significant Revolutionary military resources and represented one of the most serious internal challenges to the French Republic during the revolutionary period.
