The Aragon Offensive, running from March 7 to April 19, 1938, was a decisive Nationalist operation during the Spanish Civil War that followed the Battle of Teruel. Fielding approximately 150,000 troops against a Republican force of around 100,000, the Nationalists smashed through Republican lines, overran Aragon, and seized portions of Catalonia and the Levante. The scale of the territorial gain severely weakened the Republic's strategic position, cutting into regions that held both population and industrial value. The offensive demonstrated that the Republic, despite its defense at Teruel, could not sustain a coherent front against concentrated Nationalist pressure, accelerating the broader collapse of Republican military cohesion in the northeast.
