Ramón Matías Mella Castillo, known as Ramón Mella, was a Dominican revolutionary, politician, and military general during the Dominican War of Independence. He is known for being one of the three principal leaders of the independence movement, together with Juan Pablo Duarte and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, and is one of the founding figures of the Dominican Republic.
