The Yakut revolt, also known as the Yakut expedition, represented the final episode of the Russian Civil War. Hostilities ran from September 1921 to June 1923, centered on the Ayano-Maysky District of the Russian Far East. With White Army forces numbering under 2,000 against a Soviet force of 5,000, the engagement concluded the broader civil war that had consumed the former Russian Empire since 1917. Commanders on the Soviet side included Ivan Strod, Stepan Vostretsov, and Nestor Kalandarishvili, while Mikhail Korobeinikov and Anatoly Pepelyayev led the White Army contingent.
