The Second Battle of Tuyutí, fought on 3 November 1867, saw a Paraguayan force of 8,000–9,000 men engage a smaller allied Brazilian-Argentine force of approximately 4,500 under Marques de Sousa. Despite their numerical advantage, the Paraguayans suffered 2,889 casualties and were defeated.
