The Second Battle of Tripoli Harbor was one of several naval engagements fought during the American blockade of Tripoli Harbor between August and September 1804, as part of the broader First Barbary War against the Eyalet of Tripolitania. The action occurred under Commodore Edward Preble's command, with Stephen Decatur Jr. and Richard Somers among the American officers present, and placed U.S. naval forces in direct contest with Yusuf Karamanli's substantially larger Tripolitan force.
