Operation Horadiz

Battle context

Operation Horadiz was a battle fought in the Horadiz village of the Fuzuli District of Azerbaijan during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Beginning in December 1993 and concluding on January 6, 1994, the operation took place during a period of intensified Armenian military activity in the final phase of the war before the May 1994 ceasefire. Azerbaijan recorded approximately 5,000 casualties in connection with the operation, indicating the scale of fighting in the Fuzuli District during this period. The battle was part of the broader Armenian advances into Azerbaijani-administered territory that characterized the closing months of the conflict.
