Landing at Labis

Significance

The Landing at Labis involved an airborne insertion of Indonesian paratroopers near Labis, Johore, Malaysia during the Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation. The operation represented one of Indonesia's attempts to project force into the Malay Peninsula itself, escalating the confrontation beyond the Borneo frontier where most fighting was concentrated. By targeting Johore, Indonesian forces sought to extend pressure into the Malaysian heartland, though the recorded outcome of the operation is not known.
