The Combat of Korneuburg was a rearguard action between Austrian VI Korps under Klenau and elements of the French IV Corps under Legrand. Despite Austrian forces outnumbering the French roughly 18,000 to 13,000, the engagement ended in favor of the French. Casualties on both sides were light — 350 French and 300 Austrian — consistent with the limited scope of a rearguard skirmish rather than a pitched battle.
