The Battle of the Gulf of Roses was a minor naval engagement fought during the War of the Pyrenees between Spain and Revolutionary France. A Spanish ship of the line operating under Admiral Juan de Lángara pursued the French frigate Iphigenie for over 24 hours before forcing it to strike its colors. The French corvette involved in the action had been separated from its squadron three days earlier in a storm and was assumed lost. With 280 French casualties recorded, the engagement produced a tangible if limited Spanish success in Pyrenean coastal waters, though its operational weight within the broader war remained marginal.
