The Battle of the Dukla Pass was part of the Soviet east Carpathian strategic offensive in September–October 1944, fought for control of the Dukla Pass on the Polish-Slovak border. The operation's primary objective was to provide support for the Slovak rebellion, a goal that was not achieved. Despite this failure, the battle contributed to the conclusion of the full liberation of the Ukrainian SSR, giving it strategic consequence within the broader Eastern Front campaign.
