The Battle of Puerto de Baños was a clash in the Peninsular War in which a Portuguese-Spanish column under Robert Wilson attempted to hold a mountain pass against Marshal Michel Ney's VI Corps, which outnumbered the defenders by more than three to one. After nine hours of combat, Wilson's force broke up and scattered into the mountains. The engagement took place near Baños de Montemayor, roughly 45 kilometres northeast of Plasencia, placing it within the broader operational zone of central Spain during the 1809 campaign season.
