Battle of Preveza

Significance

The structured facts describe a battle in the Italo-Turkish War of 1911–1912, but the supplied overview describes an entirely different engagement — the 1538 naval battle of Preveza between the Ottoman fleet under Hayreddin Barbarossa and a Holy League force under Andrea Doria. Because the overview does not correspond to the battle identified in the structured facts, no grounded significance can be written for the 1911 engagement. The overview material cannot be used without misattributing a sixteenth-century Ottoman–Habsburg naval engagement to the Italo-Turkish War.
