The Battle of Pirde (also known as the Battle of Altun Kupri) was fought on 20 October 2017 as part of the broader Battle of Kirkuk, itself a central episode in the 2017 Iraqi–Kurdish conflict. Iraqi Army forces, supported by the Popular Mobilization Forces and intelligence allegedly provided by Iran, moved against KDP Peshmerga positions backed by PAK and Kurdish locals.
