The Battle of Pente Pigadia was fought over several days in late October 1912 during the opening phase of the First Balkan War, pitting Greek forces under Lieutenant General Konstantinos Sapountzakis against Ottoman forces under General Esad Pasha. The engagement began with an Ottoman attack on Greek positions at Anogi and extended across a series of skirmishes lasting approximately six days. Greek forces sustained 222 casualties but held their ground throughout, denying the Ottomans a breakthrough at this sector of the front.
