The Battle of Mirali was fought between 7 and 10 October 2007 in the North Waziristan District, pitting Pakistan Armed Forces against Afghan Taliban and Pakistani Taliban forces around Mir Ali, the second largest town in the semi-autonomous border region. The engagement fell within the broader insurgency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that had intensified from 2004 onward as militant networks consolidated positions in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
