The Battle of Lambach was a minor French victory in the opening phase of the War of the Third Coalition, fought on 31 October 1805 at Lambach in Oberösterreich. The French vanguard under Davout and Beaumont engaged an Austro-Russian force commanded by Bagration and Emanuel Freiherr Schustekh, inflicting between 148 and 400 casualties on the Austrian side. The engagement formed part of the broader French pursuit and pressure on coalition forces during the campaign that would culminate in the wider operations of 1805, and demonstrated the effectiveness of French advance elements in pressing combined Austro-Russian rearguard positions.
