The Battle of Kollaa was fought from 7 December 1939 to 13 March 1940 in Ladoga Karelia as part of the Winter War. The engagement produced sharply asymmetric casualties: Finnish forces sustained approximately 1,500 losses against approximately 8,000 Soviet casualties.
