The Battle of Jilehoy was a military engagement during the Russian–Circassian War in which Sheikh Mansur's coalition of Circassian, Abazin, and Nogai fighters initially gained the upper hand against Russian forces under General Maxim Rebinder before being compelled to withdraw following the arrival of Russian reinforcements. The engagement illustrated the persistent capacity of Mansur's movement to contest Russian advances in the region, even against a force nearly twice its size, while also demonstrating that Russian numerical and logistical depth could ultimately reverse initial setbacks. The battle did not produce a decisive strategic shift but reflected the broader pattern of the Russian–Circassian War, in which Russian forces absorbed early resistance and leveraged reinforcement to reassert pressure on the indigenous coalition led by Mansur.
