The Battle of Ferrybridge, fought on 28 March 1461, served as a preliminary engagement between the houses of York and Lancaster in the days immediately preceding the Battle of Towton during the Wars of the Roses. As a precursor to Towton — one of the largest and most consequential engagements of the entire conflict — Ferrybridge set the immediate operational context for that encounter.
