The Battle of Bushy Run was fought in western Pennsylvania between a British column under Colonel Henry Bouquet and a combined force of Delaware, Shawnee, Mingo, and Huron warriors during Pontiac's Rebellion. Despite serious British losses, Bouquet's column routed the Indigenous force and succeeded in relieving the besieged garrison at Fort Pitt. The outcome secured a critical post in the Ohio Country and checked the momentum of the coordinated Indigenous campaign against British frontier positions. Fort Pitt's relief demonstrated that British columns could fight through ambush-oriented resistance and reach interior posts, limiting the strategic gains that Pontiac's alliance had achieved earlier in the rebellion.
