Battle of Antrea

Significance

The Battle of Antrea was fought between Finnish White and Red forces in the Antrea and Jääski area from February through late April 1918, spanning more than two months of the Finnish Civil War. The White forces, commanded by Herman Wärnhjelm and Aarne Sihvo, were numerically outnumbered, facing a Red force estimated at up to twice their strength. Beyond its duration and the disparity in force sizes, the available record does not specify what the engagement decided or how it shaped the broader course of the conflict.
