The Action of 6 November 1772 was a naval engagement fought over three days in the Gulf of Patras during the Sixth Russo-Turkish War. A Russian squadron under Mikhail Konyaev met an Ottoman force composed of frigates and xebecs, inflicting a decisive one-sided defeat: all 9 Ottoman frigates and 10 of 16 xebecs were destroyed, with no Russian vessels lost. The engagement demonstrated Russian naval reach into Greek waters and degraded Ottoman naval capacity in the eastern Mediterranean at a moment when Russia was pressing its strategic advantage across multiple theaters of the war.
